(Sent this to the wrong group....my apologizes, should you get two.)

Paper: Keystone Courier
City: Connellsville, Pennsylvania
Date: Friday, July 15, 1881
Page: 4, second column

     J. H. Babcock has in his possession several pieces of meteor rock which
fell into his yard on Wednesday morning. Mrs. Babcock observed the first of
the falling stones and thought they had been thrown by some boys, but while
looking up, saw another lot of the mineral fall direct from the heavens. One
of the pieces shown us by Mr. Babcock was about four inches ling, two inches
in width and one inch thick. It had evidently been heated as one side was
somewhat charred. Another specimen, a little larger than a pigeon egg,
resembled very much a piece of common sand stone.

Meteorites A to Z: Second Edition, 2004, by list members Mike Jensen, Bill
Jensen and Anne Black does not show a meteorite having fallen and recovered
at this time and place. Still don't have your A to Z? I still have new
signed copies available.

Clear Skies,
Mark Bostick
