December 01, 2007 - Samples from the two 'starchasersmeteorites' auctions (above) were sent to New England Meteoritical Services for meteorite verification. NEMS replied:
"Thank you for sending the samples for us to examine. Unfortunately they are not meteoritical. The samples were examined with a petrology microscope and determined to be a by-product of a foundry process."
"Foundry artifacts and by-products are the most misinterpreted material that we see in the lab as some foundry samples actually look meteoritical..."
"Sorry that the material was not meteoritical..."
